Brazil’s solar operators will have until August 13 to register for the A-3 power roundin October, according to federal energy planning company EPE.
Applications must provide details of the location, equipment used and licenses needed for proposed works. Registration opens Wednesday (Jul 17) and includes separate categories for photovoltaic and heliothermic generation projects.
The October 25 round will be the first time solar and biogas have competed at a Brazil power auction. Under A-3 guidelines, plants will be required to begin supplying electricity to distributors by January 2016.
