Founder and Director

Harris Gomez is the Founder and Director of Harris Gomez Group, an international and multidisciplinary firm specialising in cross-border transactions between common law countries and Latin America.

With over 30 years of cross-border experience, he has advised a wide range of innovative companies on corporate and business law, technology and software protection, employment law, real estate, commercial, and M&A transactions. He has a broad and multidisciplinary experience in business transactions, market entry, and project development across Australia and Latin America, successfully negotiating and advising on hundreds of Mining and IP contracts with major mining companies in both regions, such as Codelco, Rio Tinto, and Glencore.

In 2001, he established an office in Chile, making Harris Gomez Group the first Australian legal firm in South America. From 2008 to 2014, he practised and worked in Chile, further strengthening the firm’s presence across Latin America, and he remains the principal for practices in Australia, Chile, and Peru. His practice mainly focuses on Technology Law and the METS (Mining Equipment, Technology, and Services) sector, advising engineering firms and technology providers on navigating the complexities of international expansion, critical minerals, supply chain strategies, and complex EPC, EPCM, and O&M contracts.

Academically, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Bond University. He holds an unrestricted practising certificate from the Law Society of NSW.

Over the past thirty years, Harris has established a reputation as a leading cross-border lawyer and commercial adviser, overseeing several major operations including the legal design, execution, and evaluation of numerous projects in mining, engineering, technology, and sustainability. He was recognised as a valued practitioner in Corporate Law, M&A, and Corporate Tax by Leaders League in 2026.

He is fluent in English and Spanish, which, along with his vast experience and trajectory, enables him to tackle a broad range of operations and efficiently advise our clients on foreign investment in Latin America and Australia.
