Carla López

Senior Corporate Lawyer

Carla López is a Senior Corporate Lawyer with Harris Gomez Group, an international and multidisciplinary firm specializing in cross border transactions between common law countries and Latin America.

An attorney since 2013, she has worked for almost 14 years in the private sector advising a wide range of companies on corporate, project finance, infrastructure development, market regulation and antitrust areas. She has a broad and multidisciplinary experience on business transactions, corporate compliance and investment development and financing.

From 2007 to 2012 she worked at Correa Gubbins on environmental and administrative law. From 2012 to 2021 she worked at Correa Squella on Corporate Law, Real Estate, Public Concessions and Project Finance. During 2016, she also worked at the United Nations Development Program in New York regarding the legal feasibility in Latin America of the implementation of the sustainable development goals for year 2030.

Academically speaking, she has furthered her legal studies through the completion of two diplomas on market regulation at Universidad de Chile, and another one on economic analysis of real estate and corporate law from University of Chicago School of Law. In addition, she completed an LL.M. from New York University School of Law, and another one from Universidad de Chile. In both cases specializing in infrastructure development and economic and corporate law. In June 2020, she took the oath to be formally admitted as a member of the New York State Bar Association, after successfully passing the New York Bar Exam on 2018.

She has been a professor and invited lecturer at Universidad de Chile and Universidad Andrés Bello Law Schools, where she taught courses on Civil, Economic, Competition and Consumer Law; and currently works for both the Competition Law and the Female Attorneys Committee at the Chilean Bar Association.

For the past 12 years, Mrs. López has arisen as a prominent corporate lawyer leading several major operations including the legal design, execution and assessment and development of numerous projects regarding religious, agricultural forestry, mining, energy, public, gaming, and educational real estate projects. She was also recognized as “Rising Star” in the Antitrust area by The Legal 500 publication, in October 2020.

She is bilingual Spanish, English, which -along her vast experience and trajectory- enables her to tackle a broad range of operations and efficiently advise our clients foreign investment in Latin America.
