Chile Launches 6 Irrigation Study tenders

Chile’s national irrigation commission (CNR) has launched three tenders to develop irrigation solutions for small farmers, in a country ravaged by a five-year drought.

Each tender involves improving irrigation through more efficient water usage, CNR said in a statement.

The first tender is for projects in Coquimbo (IV) and Valparaíso (V) regions, the second for projects in Metropolitan and O’Higgins (VI) regions, and the third for projects in Los Lagos (X) and Los Ríos (XIV) regions.

The basis of the tenders are published in www.mercadopublico.cl with the following ID:

  1. 870-22 Basic study-LP14 “Diagnosis for micro irrigation in regions X and XIV.”
  2. 870-23 Study-LP14 “Diagnosis for micro irrigation Metropolitan and O’Higgins”.
  3. 870-24 Basic study-LP14 “Diagnosis for micro irrigation in regions IV and V”.

Another three studies to develop ways of improving irrigation monitoring boards in the northern, central and southern regions of the country have recently been published.

The results of the studies will be used in the legal incorporation of 11 irrigation monitoring boards, CNR said in a release.

Future development strategies and staff training programs will also be based on the findings of the studies.

Each of the studies is divided geographically, covering the northern, central and southern areas.
